Levie Meijer Kattenburg was a son of Meijer Kattenburg and Debora Garf. He married in Enschede on 12 January 1916 to Helena van Tijn, daughter of David Arie van Tijn and Henriette Rosendaal.

Hollandia Factories Kattenburg & Co for 'our loyal colleague'. Another notice was placed by the management and governors of the N.V. Hollandia Factories Kattenburg & Co. for 'our highly regarded Governor'.
