Mietje Vrengel was 18 years old when she got married to David Simons on July 4, 1889 in Winschoten. By profession he was metal dealer. The couple had eight children: Frouke, Levi, Frouke, Dane, Esther, Benjamin, Simon and Simon. Only Dane en Esther reached adulthood. David Simons died in 1937.
