Jonas Krant was a son of Kaatje Krant. He married Rosette Duka in Rotterdam on 13 July 1932, a daughter of Joseph Duka and Hanna Lopes Dias, who passed away already in 1921.

A former neigbhour across the way could remember the Krant family. He came regularly over to fulfil several actions during the shabat in the house, as the family wasn't able to to these by themselves. They were orthodox jewish, which prohibited them to make those actions at the shabat.
