Isaac van Dam was a son of Mozes van Dam. He married Jetje Bood. They owned a drapery shop in the Westewagenstraat in Rotterdam. The couple had four children: Rosetta, Jansje, Hendrik Joseph (he died before May 1940) and Emma Anna (she died young). Jetje van Dam-Bood and her daughter Jansje lost their lives during the bombardment of Rotterdam.
