According to tradition Salomon (Salo) Aronius was a handsome boy, who was always dressed neatly. He was a loner. He went to the primary school in Zwartsluis in the Schoolstraat. Because studying there did not go satisfactory, he went to the Mackay school in Meppel at the age of eleven.
