Hartog Velleman, a market vendor, lived in 's Hertogenbosch. He appears on the official honour roll as a member of the resistance. He was deported to Auschwitz via the camps at Amersfoort and Westerbork.

Hartog Velleman was arrested after his location was betrayed. As an SD member rang the doorbell, Hartog Velleman fled through a hatchway in the bedroom leading to the backyard. His captors were on the lookout for him there. The escape hatch in the bedroom is still there.
