Biography

About Rachel Leviet-Hoogstraal

Abraham Toncman, secretary to the Jewish community of Oude Pekela, wrote in the book of minutes of the congregation board that several Jews were forced to travel to Westerbork via Groningen on 12 November 1942. The widow Rachel Leviet-Hoogstraal was among them. Because this 86-year old woman was blind, she was allowed to stay behind at the Jewish old-age home Beth Zekenim in Groningen.
