Ilse Roer and her sister Helena Roer lived together with her mother at the same address as Max Baum. Her mother was a half sister of Max and was a widow. She survived the war.

According to the death certificate of Ilse Roer from the Auschwitz museum she died on 2 October 1942. It is possible this date is different from the official day of death as established after the war by the Department of Justice.
