Albert de la Bella did his HBS-B exams in 1941. He was a student at the First Municipal HBS in Rotterdam. After his exams he wanted to enroll in university. However, because of German regulations this wasn't possible. Nevertheless, Albert de la Bella wanted to prepare himself for an academic education and took private lessons.
