Barend Appel was the widower of Maria Crost. The couple had six children: Simon, Jesaija (died at ayoung age), Salomon, Eva, Esther and one child that may have survived the war.
In 1942 Barend Appel moved to an appartment at Lepelstraat 60 II, together with his son Salomon.
