About Ernst Cosman

At age 16, Ernst Cosman joined the 'Halbe' farm (a home for Palestine pioneers) near Berlin for two years. He then fled to the Netherlands, arriving in Rheden on 20 October in 1939. From 10 May 1941 until 31 December 1942 he was a youth leader at Huize Voorburg, the youth aliyah home in Elden. This home in the South of Arnhem was intended for older Palestine pioneers (ages sixteen to nineteen). He specialized in agriculture and horticulture and was involved in many social activities at Huize Voorburg. He was known as Erco.
