Isaac de Leeuw was a son of Manuel de Leeuw and Jetje de Jong. He married Esther Engelsman in 1890 in Amsterdam. They divorced in 1922. Esther died in 1925. They had eleven children, among whom nine who reached adulthood. The oldest child survived the war. The other children were Emanuel, Samuël, Femmina, Elisabeth, Jetje, Sophia. Barend and Mozes.
