Dina was the daughter of Mozes Heijman and Marianne Cohen. She was the sister of Philip, Kasper (also known as Karl), Eva and Nathan. All the children were born in Groenlo, and buried at the Jewish cemetery at Arnhem. For Dina a memorial stone was placed at the cemetery.
The family name originally was Heijmans. Though Moses used the name Heijman.
