Esther Izaaks was a daughter of Israel Abraham Izaaks (also spelled as Izaks) and Hanna Salomon Turksma. She had three sisters and five brothers. Three of them died at a young age. Esther Izaaks married Salomon de Jong on 25 August 1915. Salomon was saxophonist at the first infantry regiment. He husband died on 3 December 1930 in The Hague.
