Salomon Henri Kets de Vries was the son of Henri Kets de vries and Eva van der Hove. He married Elizabeth Oesterman in 1901. She was the daughter of Jacob Oesterman and Lea Trijtel. The couple had three children: Eva, Jacob Salomon and Henri Salomon.
