Mietje Nieweg married Lowie Cohen on 16 March 1942. After her marriage she lived with her husband and parents in law in Termunten.
Mietje Nieweg and her brother ,Meijer, were members of the singing and drama club 'Harmonie' in Appingedam. Besides the frequent performances the members of the club also went on excursion, for instance to the island Schiermonnikoog.
