Joseph Loonstijn was e ason of Meijer Simon Loonstijn and Mietje Gerrit Appelboom. He married in Amsterdam on 7 March 1886 to Eva Vos, who passed away on 27 June 1923. The couple had 12 children: Abraham, Alida, Salomon, Rebecca, Simon, Isaac, Schoontje and Leendert. Saartje died in 1918, only 10 years olf. Meijer passed away in February 1940, Mietje died in Amsterdam and Juda died 4 February 1919, 10 months after his marriage on 11 April 1918 to Hanna Dribbel.
