Barend Wurms was a don of Abraham Wurms and Femmetje Verdoner. He married in Amsterdam on 24 June 1914 to Esther Sluijter, daughter of Isaac Sluijter and Roosje Presser.
His siblings were Branca, Juda, Mozes, Meijer and Hartog. His twinbrothers Joseph and Hijman have died as babies and also his brother Philip passed away before the war.
