Barend Swaab was a son of Salomon Levie Swaab and Sara Swaab. He married 17 December 1924 in Amsterdam to Sara Swaab, a daughter of Samuel Swaab and Betje van Gelderen. The couple had five children, of whom one baby-daughter has died only 1 year old. The other children as mentioned here, are killed during the Holocaust.
Barend Swaab was born in a family with in total elven children, of whom two children have died very young and four daughters have survived the war, however one brother-in-law, Mozes Wegloop, just as Barend's other siblings: Ruben Salomon, Sally, Mozes and Rebecca Mietje, have been killed all during the Holocaust.
