About Betje Schuitevoerder-Hakker

Betje Hakker was a daughter of Levie Abraham Hakker and Schoontje Boas. On 25 March 1942 she married in Amsterdam Izak Schuitevoerder, a son of Jacob Schuitevoerder and Aaltje Krant. Betje and her husband werd brought into camp Westerbork on 1 April 1944 - a rather late date but because of function of her spouse, they were safeguarded from deportation - till further notice. (bis auf weiteres). Her husband survived the war. In Camp Westerbork they stayed in barack 67 and on 8 April 1944 both were deported "Eastwards". On the registration card of Izak Schuitevoerder a not was mad "in leven" - meaning "alive". Betje's spouse has survived the Shoah. Betje self however lost her life somewhere in Germany on 28 February 1945 - her place of death is unknown.
