Lea Hijman was a daughter of Levie Hijman and Rachel Reens and she was married to Leo Julius de Vries, who has survived the Holocaust.

The Police Commissioner of Haarlem requested that Lea de Vries-Hijman be located, detained and brought to trial. She had left her place of residence without the required authorization. This description referred to Jews who had gone into hiding.
