David Frank was a son of Hartog Frank and Grietje van der Kar. He married 5 June 1940 in Amsterdam to Dientje Fierlier, a daughter of Joseph Fierlier and Betje Vega.
David had another sister Marie and two brothers Louis and Salomon, who also have been killed during the Holocaust.
