About Hijman de Vries

The widower Hijman de Vries lived in the Kleine Nagtegaalstraat in Amersfoort. He was ordered to go to Amsterdam on 21 August 1942. He went into hiding on the Veluwe. Soon, he was picked up without a star in Uddel. He was returned to Amersfoort and from there, the military police took him to the Sicherheitspolizei in Amsterdam. Via Westerbork, Hijman de Vries was deported to Auschwitz.
