About Louis Lamm

On 12 December 1941 the Joodsche Weekblad featured an article with a photograph in honour of the 70th birthday of Louis Lamm. Louis Lamm came to Berlin in 1900, where he opened a bookshop and publishing house that became well-known in Jewish circles. 'His publishing company issued several valuable offprints of Jewish scholarly works from the Middle Ages and the nineteenth century, granting access to these books to researchers with modest means who valued the contents of the works over the craftsmanship, who would otherwise have been unable to obtain them.' Louis Lamm also wrote several studies about Jewish communities in Germany.
