About Abraham de Goede

On 26 February 1814 King William I decreed that the Nederlands-Israëlitisch Seminarium (NIS) was to be established in Amsterdam to train rabbis, teachers and other officers serving the Jewish community.
Abraham de Goede, the son of Levie, attended the NIS.

Abraham de Goede, a schoolteacher, was a son of the merchant Levie de Goede and of Rachel Walvis.
Marianna Rebecca van der Horst, a schoolteacher, was a daughter of the sales representative Asser Maurits van der Horst and of the deceased Judith van Vriesland.
They married on 30 August 1943 in Westerbork transit camp. Asser Maurits van der Horst, father of the bride, was a witness at the wedding. He signed the marriage certificate.
