Louis Frank studied medicine in Amsterdam, where he sat for his medical finals on 21 February 1903. He opened his practice in Hoogeveen. In 1913 he became a specialist in oral diseases in Germany. He practised briefly in Rotterdam and moved to Amsterdam in 1914, where he had his general practice (and home) at 11 Roemer Visscherstraat.
