Marcus Blog was the son of Abraham Isaac Blog and Duifje Rijxman. He was a shoemaker by trade. He married Mijntje Roos in 1890. The couple had twelve children, among whom Jeannette
After Mijntje Roos died in 1931, Marcus Blog moved in with the family of his son and daughter-in-law, Rosa Blog-Heilbron.
