Abraham Menist was the son of Meijer Menist and Lea Querido. He was a pianist. During the war he was put to work in one of the Jewish labour camps, namely Diever B. There he became the chairman of the Contact Committee, and the other internees at the camp turned to him for confidential advice and assistance.
