Esther Cohen was a daughter of Israel Cohen and Sara Kokernoot. She married 23 August 1905 in Amsterdam to Isaac Polak, son of Pineas Polak and Duifje Isaak Werkendam, and whom she has divorced on 23 September 1935. The couple had six children together: Duifje, Sara, Johanna, Rachel, Lena who lived with her mother and Pineas, who has survived the war.
Also Esther's ex-husband Isaac Polak survived the Holocaust.
