Hartog Swaab was a son of Joseph Swaab and Jetje Berkhof. He married 20 September 1916 in Amsterdam to Grietje Blitz, a daughter of Philip Blitz and Chrisje Carels.
His siblings who also have been killed durig the Holocaust were Benedictus, Mozes, Sientje, Anna, Aaron, Samuel, and Heintje.
