Jozef de Swaan was the son of Benedictus de Swaan and Eva Wolf. He was a merchant in flowers. In 1936 he married a non-Jewish woman. The couple had no children.
Jozef de Swaan got rounded up during the great raid in the Jewish quarter of Amsterdam at 22 and 23 February 1941.
