Mozes IJzerman was a son of Victor IJzerman and Roosje Hoepelman. His mother passed away however at the end of 1887 and was interred in the Jewish Cemetery of Zeeburg on 1 January 1888. His father remarried on 25 April 1889 to Vogeltje Preso, for whom he placed an obiturary on 27 March 1942 in Het Joodsche Weekblad.
Mozes IJzerman married 1 September 1910 in Amsterdam to Roosje Theeboom, daughter of Levie Theeboom and Fijtje van Cleef.
