Elkan de Magtige was a son of Joseph de Magtige and Saartje de Klijn. He married 7 June 1911 to Hadasse Sanders from Den Haag, a daughter of Jacob Salomon Sanders and Hesje van der Kloot. Togehter they had four children: Jacob, Joseph and Israel. Their son Salomon died in Apeldoorn, 15 years old.
Hadasse passed away in Amsterdam on 12 October 1934, and Elkan de Magtige remarried on 8 January 1936 to Maria de Raay, the widow of Hartog Hijman Schreuders, who has deceased in Amersfoort in 1924. From that marriage, two children were born: Meijer and Esther.
