About Elkan Sanders

Elkan Sanders studied medicine in Amsterdam, where he sat for his medical finals on 3 July 1929. He specialised in Vienna in oral surgery. On 28 June 1933, he obtained his doctoral degree in Amsterdam on a thesis about 'Replantation and transplantation of teeth'.
Sanders settled as physician 'for dentistry and dental surgery'. He lived and practised at 18 J.J. Viottastraat in Amsterdam. He also practised in the out-patients' clinic at 266 Baarsjesweg. Sanders was one of the pioneers in dentistry in the Netherlands.
In May 1940, Elkan Sanders, his wife and their daughter took their own lives. They were buried at the Jewish cemetery at Muiderberg.
