Nathan Brander was a son of Isaac Brander and Marianne van Bever. He married 18 September 1912 in Amsterdam Sara Rijksman, daughter of Joseph Abraham Rijksman and Betje Kloos.
Besides his brothers and sister, Raphael, Elias, Barend and Elisabeth who have been killed in the Holocaust, it were also his sister-in-law Sophie Schelvis who was married to his brother Hartog, who died alreay in 1923 and his brother-in-law Joseph Ritmeester, widower of his sister Aaltje Brander, who had died in January 1940.
