Levie Walvis was the son of Salomon Walvis and Dina Grishaver. He married Martha de Groot on 10 March 1909. The couple had six children. In 1925 Levie left Martha to live with another woman. The couple did not marry. With her Levie had three more children. Before the war Levie lived at the Linnaeusdwarsstraat.
