Sigmund Louis Simons Cohen was a son of Izaak Simons Cohen (1859-1938) and Liena (aka Lena) Cohen (1858-1936). His parents had six children, two of whom survived the war. Sigmund's sisters Marieanna Emma (b. 1891), Emma (b. 1892) and Andriesa Sardiena all lived in Utrecht.
