Jacob de Rooy (de Rooij) was a son of Mozes de Rooij and Sara boeken, a family with eleven children, among them: Keetje, Abraham, Betje (who passed already in 1908, Rebecca, Hartog, Esther, Samson, Pinehas, Coenraad, who has survived the Holocaust, Rachel and Jacob himself.
Jacob married in Amsterdam on 31 July 1895 to Betje Vischschoonmaker, who passed away there on 28 February 1935, nearly 69 years old. The couple had four children together: Mozes, Heintje, Sara en Marcus.
