About Isaac van Kreeveld

Divorced from Rachel Schelvisch, and remarried to Kaatje Tokkie.

Isaac van Kreeveld was a son of Joseph Isaac van Kreeveld and Leentje Nikkelsberg. He married Rachel Schelvis in Amsterdam on 6 November 1907, a daughter of Mozes Schelvis and Marianne Wurms, but from whom he had been divorced in Altona (Germany) on 18 Devember 1922. The Van Kreeveld-Schelvis couple had one daughter, Lena,  who was born on 1 December 1908 in Amsterdam.

Lena van Kreeveld married Simon Frankfort on 4 July 1928, but from whom she has been divorced on 10 June 1937. With Simon Frankfort, she had three children, viz. Rebecca, Hendrik and Richard. After her divorce, Lena remarried on 3 July 1930 Simson Cohen Rodrigues, with whom she had a baby in 1943, named Simon Monny. All were killed during the Shoah.

Rachel Schelvis remarried on 5 January 1927 to Hendrik Waterman, who was born on 30 July 1877 in Den Helder. They both have survived the Holocaust; her husband Hendrik Waterman passed away in Amsterdam on 15 March 1951 and Rebecca died there on 15 October 1966.

After being divorced from Rachel Schelvis, Isaac van Kreeveld remarried on 8 March 1923 in Amsterdam the seamstress Kaatje Tokkie, a daughter of Machiel Tokkie and Bilha Scharis. From this 2nd wedlock has been born one daughter on 2 September 1930: Betsy.

After his registration at the Jewish Council, Isaac van Kreeveld got this job at the department of bread supply of the Council and received an ID, numbered C-1665, but had no official “Sperre” (exemption from deportation). Together with his 2nd wife Kaatje Tokkie and their daughter Betsy, he was carried off to Westerbork on 18 March 1943 and on 23 March 1943 already deported to Sobibor. There, upon arrival on 26 March 1943, they were immediately murdered in the gas chambers.
