Andries Hoffmann was a son of Mozes Hoffmann and Marianna Sluijter. He married 3 May 1922 in Amsterdam to Marianna Zwarts, a daughter of Aron Zwarts and Betje van Kamerik.
The couple had four children, of whom one son passed away in 1938 in Amsterdam, 13 years old. The other three children have been killed in Sobibor, toghether with their mother.
His sister Rosette has been killed in Auschwitz.
