Samuel Kropveld was a son of Lheman Kropveld and Aaltje Kropveld. He married Sara Rachel Landau at 2 July 1941 in Amsterdam, a daughter of the Polish Mosiek Hercke Landau en Hanna Tradja Szezecinka. On 4 August 1942 their son was born who has survived the Holocaust.
