About Bernhard Weijel

In April 1939 Bernhard Weijel became a branch manager for the Firm S. Boektje from Kampen, a trade in rags, metal, skins, sacks and jute, and settled himself on the Waterstraat 89. In accordance with § 7 VO 48/1941 (Nazi regulation to remove Jews from the trade and industry) the company was dissolved during the war.

Bernhard Weijel died on 21 August 1943 in Westerbork transit camp and he was cremated on 23 August 1943. The urn with his ashes was placed on the Jewish cemetry in Diemen on field U, row 11, grave nr. 19.
