A friend remembers he met Ernst Bob Heijmans
end August 1944 near the Oranjekanaal in Drenthe. An offer to go to Amsterdam was declined by Ernst Bob. Not long afterwards Ernst Bob probably left with the last train from Westerbork after having been there for two years.
