About Israël Tiefenbrunner

Israël Tiefenbrunner, known as Isi, arrived in the Netherlands as a German refugee on 14 December 1938 and stayed at 321 Zeeburgerdijk in Amsterdam, an address for Palestine Pioneers. He was sent from there to 93 Schelmseweg in Arnhem, an assembly point for Palestine Pioneers. On 15 December 1939 he moved to the youth aliyah home at the Hof van Moerkerken in Mijnsheerenland. When this home was closed on 16 October 1940, he was transferred to the youth aliyah home in Loosdrecht, the Paviljoen Loosdrechtse Rade. On 11 June 1941 he was placed at the Jewish youth farm Catharinahoeve in Gouda.
Israël Tiefenbrunner was one of the Palestine Pioneers on the journey across the Pyrenees of 27 February 1944. He fell into a ravine and died as a consequence.
