Mozes de Vries was a son of Benjamin de Vries and Elisabeth Isaaks Veldman. He married in Rotterdam on 14 August 1907 to the 18 year old Roset (Roosje) Spreekmeester. The couple had four children, Elisabeth, Benjamin, Meijer and a daughter who survived the Holocaust.
