Rachel Vleeskruijer was one of five sisters. According to family stories, Rachel was in hiding at the home of one of her sisters. It was said that one day she was arrested in a razzia when she went out in the street without her Star of David. When she arrived at Westerbork, her money was taken from her: eight guilders and fifty cents. It was all that she possessed.
