Duifje van Velzen was a daughter of Salomon van Velzen and Dina Berghoff. She married 1 July 1925 in Amsterdam to the widower of Vrouwtje van Geens, Joseph Brilleslijper, son of Machiel Brilleslijper and Rebekka Bamberger.
Duifje and Joseph Brilleslijper had togehter two children, of whom one child (Salomon) has died in childhood in 1926, only 3 months old. Their other son Hartog did not survive the Holocaust.
