About Levie Sajet

Levie Sajet was a son of Meijer Benedictus Sajet and Hanna Soester. He married 30 October 1878 in Amsterdam to Mijntje Schellevis, a daughter of Abraham Eliazer Schellevis and Rachel Moses. The couple, through the years residing in Antwerp and Amsterdam at various addresses, had ten children. Three of them have survived the war. One son died at age 9 and was buried 14 September 1892 in the Jewish Cemetery of Zeeburg in Amsterdam and one child died as a baby of one month old. The other children, Abraham, Rachel, Hanna, Eliazer and Salomon, have been killed all during the Holocaust.
Levie's wife Mijntje Schellevis passed away however on 3 October 1913 in Apeldoorn. He remarried until 22 June 1938 in Amsterdam to Leentje Meijer, widow of Eduard van Tijn since 1917 and daughter of Izaak Meijer and Roosje Swart.
