About Dinah Elisabeth Kohnstamm

Dinah Kohnstamm was an artist. She worked and lived in Amsterdam, Berlin and The Hague. She was a member of the Nederlandsche Vereeniging voor Ambachts- en Nijverheidskunst from 1919 until, most likely, her death.

In her diary Dinah Kohnstamm described the anxious, sad and turbulent atmosphere that accompanied the deportations in the summer of 1942. She also reflected on these from a deep felt religious belief. Nowadays the diary is preserved at the Netherlands Institute for War Documentation.
