Meijer Cohen was a son of Wolf Cohen and Keetje Cohen. He married 27 October 1937 in Amsterdam to Esther van Buuren, a daughter of Jacob van Buuren and Klaartje Vleeschdrager.
His brothers and sister were Betje, Izak and Jozeph. One sister has survived the Holocaust.
